Only been here a year but wow. Coming from a simple app-based broker, TWS felt like being dropped into a fighter jet cockpit. Spent a solid week just watching tutorials. But now? Technical glitches are more frequent than theyd admit
Nine years and the fees are great, I wont deny that. But Ive had TWS freeze on me during market open at least a dozen times. The web portal sometimes shows stale data. Mobile app occasionally logs me out mid-session. Each incident is minor on its own but together they paint a picture of a platform that needs more QA testing. Decent broker, frustrating software.

The margin rates at IBKR are what originally got my attention 16 years ago and theyve stayed competitive ever since. Currently paying about half what Schwab charges for the same leverage. For anyone running a margin-heavy strategy, the interest savings alone are substantial. Platform does everything I need for international trading. Execution is fast. Support has been helpful when Ive needed them.
